Every Friday afternoon my friend Denise and I would "play Barbies". And fortunately I still have contact with Denise so when I received this picture via e-mail I forwarded it to her and we started discussing our Barbies. We reminisced about her fabulous outfits and how she changed through the years. I certainly wish that I had kept my collection, which was quite extensive but instead I gave it to another friend's little sister whom I am sure eventually threw it away. This all happened many, many moons ago!
My very first Barbie - 1965. It was love at first sight and I spent many, many happy hours, days, weeks, months and years with her until the first month of 1968 when I had my first real crush on a boy. Barbie was then forgotten! But she was again resurrected in the early eighties when I bought my eldest daughter her first Barbie and I gave her her last Barbie at the age of 16. I had the honour of buying a Barbie for my eldest granddaughter Georgia too! Now I look forward to giving Abigail, my youngest granddaughter, her first Barbie.
My second Barbie, in 1966 - she had rooted hair and was magnificent!

Hi Pat,
I loved my Barbie Doll and wasn't she so elegant with all her lovely clothes. Does not seem that long ago!
Hugs

Pat, That is one funny picture!
I had Barbies in the early 60's. Had. All gone now, I'm sad to say. Woulda coulda shoulda. I, too, loved my Barbies! Hugs, Laura
I can't believe she is 50. I love your bears. My friends and I have a birthday bear, which we pass around on birthdays dressed differently each time. We do this instead of presents.
I've been so very tempted sometimes when I see Barbie for the special holiday dolls, but still have never purchased one.
My Show and Tell is Posted. Come on over to visit if you can find time today. Happy Friday.
My girls practiced hair dressing onm their barbies, so they all had short funkie hair styles....cool hey

Hey Pat,
Sadly I don't have any of my old Barbie Dolls, What does make me glad is that she's always gonna be older than me lol. BTW I just love Gladys.. she's precious.
THanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend,
Hugs,
Debbie
