Twelve days to Christmas! I cannot believe it. This has been such a hard year in so many ways but it's almost over. I won't be at work for two weeks from 20 December and I am going to spend most of my time making bears! I have made a few in the last couple of months but had no time for blogging. My laptop also crashed twice and getting up to speed with all my work took all of my time. I have still been following all your blogs whenever I get the time and from next week I will be showing my bears again. Wow I even have orders for 2 ... I feel as if everyone has forgotten about me and my bears!

Hello Pat
So good to see your blog in action again and a new bear. Sorry to hear that it has been a hard year, I hope that 2011 will be a better one for you.
Have been reading Peter Godwin's books on his childhood in Zimbabwe (I grew up in Zambia) and discovered a word most appropriate to us displaced 'Africans', diaspora. Miss so many things and it has been a hard year for us as well.
Wishing you and your family a most blessed Christmas holiday.
with lots of hugs
Wendy

Oh Wendy, I know from my daughters how hard it is for Africans to be in other countries and I know the heartbreak for the family left in Africa. But you are in a better and safer place. A very dear colleague of mine was found on Saturday, at the gate to his home, dead - shot in the head and last week I was the victim of an attempted high jacking. It was such an awful experience. So my dear, embrace your new life and keep reminding yourself of the reasons you left Africa. Thank you for your good wishes and the same to you and your loved ones. Keep creating those beautiful little bears in 2011, they give me such joy!

Pat xx

Oh goodness Pat, so sorry to hear of your awful experience, glad to hear you were physically unscathed, it is the mental pain that takes time to heal.
I am very grateful for my new life in a safer environment and keep telling myself that life was not that easy in SA
take care my friend,
Wendy

Sorry it has been a hard year for you and wishing for a better 2011.
I just read of the horrible hijacking experience and your colleagues death, I am so sorry.
Enjoy the holidays and making your bears. Merry Christmas.
Many thanks for visiting me.
